Having a pet is the best thing you could ever have since it can change your personality, your body, and your mind in a good and better way. And it’s because of the added-up responsibilities that you must do to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe. One of the responsibilities that a pet, or dog owner, must do is to take them regularly for morning walks, which also benefits you as a pet owner since it forces you to exercise every day.

Plus, provide them with their necessities to live, including food, shelter, and water, and, most significantly, regular check-ups too in veterinary clinics. As a caring owner, you must not miss any appointments, especially when it’s time for your pet’s diagnostic test and report. By being a responsible and caring owner to them, you can already repay all the unconditional love and loyalty they have given us.

Yes, you read it right, pet diagnostic test. Just like humans, pets can also take a diagnostic test, so we pet owners will know if they are still healthy. It is essential to address if they have major internal illnesses, which these health problems must treat immediately to avoid worsening. In other words, through a diagnostic test, you can easily spot future health problems in your pet, which must be treated right away before they worsen. Through this test, veterinarians can quickly analyze blood, tissue, urine, or feces to look for proteins, antibodies, diseases, or other signs of general health.

Furthermore, a diagnostic test can help your pet stay healthy since it’s one of the strategies pet owners usually use to keep them safe, healthy, and protected. Here are the top three critical diagnostic tests recommended for pets to stay safe, healthy, and strong.

    1. Complete Blood Count

Like humans, blood examination and testing for our pets are essential. The blood test helps the veterinarian properly diagnose and manage various animal illnesses such as liver disease, diabetes, kidney problems, allergens, and parasites. Aside from the thorough physical examination, a complete blood test is highly recommended by the experts because it can give vital information about your pet’s health status; hence it can make proper treatment management and proper prevention.

It is additionally advised that complete blood count and blood chemistry analysis must be done not only when your pet is sick but be done annually as part of their wellness care and examinations. The test will also allow early detection of possible diseases and other health conditions. Prevention is indeed better than cure. To keep your pet safe, you must include a blood test in your pet’s routine preventive care to ensure their well-being.

    1. Urinalysis

Urinalysis is another test that is also very important and is usually recommended by vets. It is the most straightforward way to assess the overall status of your pet’s kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract, glucose regulations, and liver function. Like the complete blood count, urinalysis is recommended twice a year as part of your pet’s screening and monitoring of their health status, specifically their urinary health and kidney functions. A simple urine test can save your pets from life-threatening illnesses before it becomes worse. Your pet can live comfortably, happily, and healthier if you monitor their health conditions regularly.

    1. Fecal testing

Another important test for your pets is the stool examination. You must include fecal testing in the annual inspections of your pets. The fecal analysis allows veterinarians to check your pets for intestinal parasites, which are very common and significant health problems in dogs. Diagnostic tests like this are the only way to detect and identify what parasites we are dealing with because they cannot be seen with the naked eye. Your pets may develop abdominal discomfort, vomiting, and diarrhea, which sometimes may lead to severe dehydration.
