When I was deciding on which approach to take to fix my teeth, I knew that I wanted to take the most discreet and least invasive route possible. When my dentist recommended invisalign near me, I was intrigued because it seemed like the perfect way to have all the benefits of orthodontia, with none of the downsides or drawbacks that come with traditional braces. This personal account of Invisalign treatment describes my experiences with this process and why I chose it over other approaches.
Introducing Myself
Hi, my name is Danielle. I’m an avid blogger who enjoys writing about personal finance and living a healthy lifestyle. One day after a dentist appointment, I was chatting with my dentist about what it’s like to have Invisalign treatment. He mentioned how beneficial they are for people who are self-conscious or want to get the perfect smile. This got me thinking, what is it like to have Invisalign treatment?
How My Smile Was Affected Before
I always had a problem with my teeth. They were crooked and not at all what I wanted. As an adult, I realized that the only way to get the smile that I wanted was to go through with orthodontic treatment. The only problem is that there is a lot of dentist near me options out there that it can be hard to find the one that is best for you. After some research, though, it became clear that Invisalign would be the best option for me because it would allow me to have a beautiful smile without having to deal with wires or braces. The dentist near my office said they were confident in their ability to help straighten my teeth so that my smile would be perfect again!
How My Smile Changed After Treatment
I am so happy with the results of my Invisalign treatment. I had braces as a child but wanted to try something different for my adult teeth. My dentist near me was able to answer all of my questions and concerns about the treatment before it began. The first few weeks were very difficult for me; however, once I got used to the feeling, it became much easier. Today, people often compliment me on how straight my teeth are!
Was There Pain Involved?
I was a little surprised that some people do experience discomfort with the treatment, but it wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t have any pain during the procedure or afterward when the doctor checked to see if there were any irregularities with my teeth. The only time that it felt uncomfortable was when I had to wear the retainer for a few hours after treatment. The retainer felt like it was putting pressure on my teeth and jaw, so after about an hour or two, I took out the retainer and wore it only in situations where I knew that speaking would be difficult (like when eating). Other than that, there were no side effects from wearing the retainers except for being careful about what you eat and drink because of how food can get caught in them.
My Experience In Using Clear Orthodontic Braces
I was interested in having clear orthodontic braces because it seemed like less maintenance. You don’t have to worry about the color matching your outfit or the metal clinking against your teeth. Invisalign is also more comfortable because you can eat while wearing them, which is a huge advantage! The only downside is that it takes longer than normal braces to straighten teeth; almost a year in my case. However, I think it was worth the wait!
Are They Worth The Hype?
The answer to this question is not a simple one. First, let me provide you with some information about the treatment to give you a better understanding. Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that are designed to gradually move your teeth into their desired position over time without metal braces or wires. As you wear them, they will progress your teeth incrementally until they are in the desired position. This can take anywhere from ten months to two years depending on the severity of your case. The average patient completes their treatment within 18 months.
In my opinion, yes, they are worth the hype! For starters, these aligners are virtually invisible so no one needs to know that you’re wearing them unless you tell them!
Would I Do It Again If Given The Chance?
I would do it again if given the chance, but that decision would depend on how my teeth looked in the end. My experience with Invisalign was all around a positive one. I was able to work on my teeth with little interference from others, and it helped me learn about my dental habits. Invisalign also motivated me to brush and floss more than I had before treatment began. At the end of my treatment, my teeth were straightened, though not as much as they could have been without braces.
